In 2013 the All Stars Men of League v Caloundra Sharks Charity Match will be played at Stockland Stadium Sunshine Coast, 320 Nicklin Way, Kawana, QLD, Saturday the 2nd of March at 3pm.
The All Star Event consists of a family day of activities centred around a number of Rugby League matches. This includes Australia’s biggest backyard game of football, culminating in an exhibition match between an All Star team of ex NRL greats, lead by Allan Langer v the Caloundra Sharks A grade Rugby League Team. The day also provides off field activities including rides for children, market style food stalls, sponsor exhibitions and a chance for the public to meet and interact with players from the All Stars Team.
Over the past several years the event has attracted thousands of people through the gates to watch the growing extravaganza. Thousands of dollars have been raised for The Men of League organisation, The Caloundra Sharks and local charities, notably the Currimundi, Nambour & Gympie Special Schools and its credible Rugby League program, which we will continue to support this year.
Previous years have seen the All Stars Men of League team consist of ex NRL Rugby League players of a high calibre lead by captain Allan Langer, Ben Kennedy, Billy Moore, Scott Hill, Matt Rogers, Matt Gyer, Tom O’Rielly, Marcus Bai, Brandon Costin, Danny Nutley, Kerrod Walters, Shane Webke, Andrew Gee, Noel Goldthorpe, Dan Stains, Steve Renouf, Tonie Carroll, Clinton O’Brien, Scott Donald, Paul Bell, Wayne Marshall, Scott Sattler, Craig Greenhill, Danny Moore, Tony Priddle, Adam Mogg and Adam Maher.
Other initiatives introduced are the NRL’s Greatest Backyard Game of Rugby League which is designed to encourage all mums, dads, sisters, brothers and extended families to participate in a social game of rugby league together. As a part of promoting Rugby League and providing for our given charity we will be hosting the Currimundi, Nambour & Gympie Special School with a modified game of Rugby League during each third of the All Star Men of League v Caloundra Sharks Game.
In 2013 we have organised an All Stars Men of League Gala event evening to follow the family day. The All Stars Men of League Gala Evening is a charity fundraiser held at Novotel Twin Waters,Ocean Drive, Twin Waters,SunshineCoast, where guests, sponsors and players are treated to a fun evening with a notable guest speakers and MC including food, drinks and entertainment.
